VP Head of Attendee Marketing, Gartner Conferences

About this role

The Head of Attendee Marketing role is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the success of Gartner's industry-leading global conferences business. Conferences are a core part of Gartner's offering, providing an opportunity for both clients and prospects to experience our insights, engage directly with our experts, and network with peers and solution providers. The ideal candidate is a passionate, innovative marketing leader with a strategic, metrics-driven approach and experience leading across marketing functions, who can positively impact the business through best-in-class marketing practices, talent development and inspiring leadership and collaboration. Reporting to global leadership, you will be responsible for driving new revenue growth and client retention by attracting, engaging, and converting business leaders and their teams to experience the ultimate Gartner proof of concept by attending a conference. You will manage a global team and budget to develop and execute highly effective marketing programs that drive conference attendee growth. You will also work with key internal groups including Marketing Centers of Excellence, Digital and User Centers of Excellence, Product Development, Database, Sales and Service leadership, as well as third party suppliers and consultants.

Key responsibilities and activities

  • Drive paid conference attendees with the right profile to become or remain a Gartner client
  • Develop and execute integrated, multi-channel marketing programs to drive awareness, engagement and conversion in targeted roles and geographies
  • Amplify the Gartner Conferences brand and its position within Gartner's overall brand identity
  • Illustrate the value of Gartner's conferences to clients' and prospects' most critical priorities through the development of value propositions, content, and messaging for marketing campaigns and sales enablement programs
  • Partner with Gartner's Sales and Client Service teams to provide insight, content and guidance in support of their efforts to drive conference attendance
  • Improve and optimize marketing platforms and capabilities to drive engagement and conversion

What you will need

  • 15+ (?) years of marketing experience in B2B sectors
  • Track record of leading teams, exceeding KPIs and delivering consistent revenue and customer growth
  • Proven success implementing cutting-edge marketing practices with a customer-focused approach
  • Strong financial acumen and a track record of exceeding marketing ROI
  • Strong leadership and people skills with a highly collaborative yet decisive approach and ability to build relationships across the organization
  • Strategic, analytical and prepared to be hands-on; able to work at both the big picture and product pixel levels
  • Driven self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and accountability; comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Impeccable presentation & oral communication skills
  • Able and willing to travel frequently (majority of travel is predictable well in advance)
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA a plus
