About this role:

Gartner is currently seeking a Quantitative Research Senior Specialist for the CIO group. The team leverages proprietary quantitative data and frameworks to offer original, actionable insights into key business problems facing senior executives across industries.

The role is responsible for developing, partnering on, and executing strategic research that is fueled by intensive data collection, in depth quantitative analysis and data science techniques. QUADS researchers engage in all aspects of insight generation, including managing data collection; designing surveys; conducting descriptive and prescriptive data analysis; and using frameworks such as hypothesis testing to generate and communicate insights, in partnership with senior industry experts in Gartner.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with researchers to identify areas where data/quantitative analysis can play a role in strengthening Gartner's research

  • Dissect problems using qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract thinking, and root-cause analysis

  • Collaborate on quantitative research workstreams, including hypothesis generation, survey modeling and design, and other data collection techniques

  • Analyze large data sets using advanced statistical techniques to identify actionable insights for senior executives

  • Prepare data findings and new-to-world tools that are impactful, creative, and demonstrate confidence in proving research hypotheses and supporting Gartner client priorities

  • Oversee and manage critical data assets (e.g., prepare and update data for benchmarks) and enable reuse across the organization, e.g., making data available through Power BI

  • Identify external data sources that can be leveraged and mined for research purposes and making them accessible

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in disciplines with a strong quantitative component, including Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Commerce

  • 3-5 years of total experience, with at least 2 years' experience working in data analysis, quantitative research, analytics or benchmarking

  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Xcelsius.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (array functions, VBA)

  • Mastery in at least one Statistical software package (R, Python, SPSS, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of running supervised and unsupervised Statistical analysis such as regressions, factor analysis, cluster analysis, etc.

  • Working knowledge of sampling methodologies, survey questionnaire design, and data management

  • Good to have: Understanding of "Web scraping", "NLP Techniques" or other machine learning techniques

  • Ability to collaborate with globally distributed team members from diverse backgrounds
