Professional Development

Success within a company doesn't just happen. It requires committed teams of talented people who understand and embrace an organization's goals and work together at the highest level to achieve them.

Each day, LifePoint stands strong behind our commitment to make our communities healthier. We have always known that providing high-quality healthcare depends on our ability to find, keep, and empower creative and determined people who care. This has been a major component of our success in the past --and will be so in the future.

Strategies for Talent Development

LifePoint is focused on three long-term strategies to attract and develop talent:

Performance management

Individual accountability is fundamental to success. Our performance management initiative ensures that all employees know what it takes to be successful and that each individual's efforts are purposefully aligned with measurable goals at every level of the organization.

Leadership development

Training and education are vital elements of our talent strategy. Our CEO, CFO, and CNO development programs allow us to cultivate leaders for the future and promote them from within. We also are building our online LifeTalent Center to give employees easy access to training and educational opportunities. And we continue to systematically develop additional programs for employees to enhance the skills they need to achieve performance targets.

Succession planning

Our targeted succession planning identifies an internal bench of top talent and develops them to be qualified and ready to fill crucial roles in the organization as they come available. Planning for the future by developing leaders internally helps create career paths for employees who want to advance their careers.

Our Operating Groups

LifePoint's facilities and practices are divided into four operating divisions: Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Western. Each of these divisions has a leadership team that mirrors a hospital's leadership team, including a president and dedicated physician and provider leadership resources.
