Job Description

Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) is seeking a talented and highly motivated scientist to join the Cell & Gene Therapy Group in the Immuno-Oncology (IO) department. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of scientists in IO.

In this role you will become a key contributor to expand our biological understanding of targets regulating T cell fitness. This position is an outstanding opportunity for those wishing to combine their interest in cancer immunology with their strong desire to develop novel therapies.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*Drive and implement scientific innovation
*Support drug discovery programs in collaboration with multidisciplinary project team
*Communicate and present data within a multidisciplinary team environment
*Interrogate target biology through design and execution of relevant functional immunological and cellular assays

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

*MS with >5 years of experience in academia/industry or PhD in Immunology, Immuno-Oncology, or related discipline. Job title and grade level will be commensurate with experience
*Expert knowledge of T cell biology
*Expert knowledge of genetic perturbation in immune cells (loss-of-function and/or gain-of-function)
*Hands-on experience in multi-color FACS and killing/proliferation assays
*Scientifically motivated self-starter and capable of independently driving her/his own innovative research

Preferred Requirements
*Expert knowledge of cytokines in immune cells
*Hands-on experience in T cell differentiation
