This position requires you to maintain internet service and a mobile phone with voice and data plans to be used when required for work. Remote work for individuals who reside outside of Texas but within the US and its territories will be considered and is subject to Central Office approval.

Must be eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.

Purpose

The Senior Application Analyst configures and supports the faculty career management system in support of the Faculty Affairs business unit.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains advanced administrator expertise in Watermark's Faculty Success modules by attending vendor training, benchmarking with fellow institutions, and working collaboratively with other team resources. Will be expected to cross-train backup resources.
  • Configures the product in accordance with decisions made collaboratively with the business units, the vendor, and AIS colleagues incorporating best practices into the design and maintenance of the system while exercising good judgement and initiative. Performs testing and participates in team quality assurance activities to ensure the configuration settings are correct and meet business requirements. Identifies, troubleshoots, documents and fixes errors in configuration. Consults appropriately with colleagues and the vendor on determining root cause and solutions to complex errors. Develops reports aligned with specific requirements to serve end user and compliance needs as well as monitoring data integrity of the system.
  • Demonstrates initiative and exercises appropriate judgement by researching solutions within the product's functionality to meet business requirements and communicates available options to stakeholders. Shares knowledge of the application with colleagues.
  • Serves as the liaison to the business units, the vendor, and other areas of Academic Information Systems. Will submit product enhancement and bug fix requests to the vendor. In conjunction with the project team, develops and maintains known and potential use cases to aid in effective implementation and testing of the system.
  • Develops operational checklists, procedures, and other documentation for supporting the career management system. Oversees ongoing improvement practices to ensure quality implementation and services. Reports status on time and with accuracy.
  • Accepts input from senior team members, project managers, peers, and supervisor on task execution and prioritization. Provides input and direction to junior application analysts.
  • Demonstrates ability to solicit and document business requirements. May lead requirement gathering sessions for enhancement requests. Reviews and assists in managing requirements as they change and evolve over the life of the system.
  • Monitors product enhancements and upgrades and communicates capabilities to stakeholders. Participates in the Watermark community building rapport with other institutions and sharing best practices.
  • May be assigned responsibilities to cross train on administration of another application once this system is operational and stable.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Three years of professional experience with combination of business analysis, information system design, report design, and system configuration
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solution options to meet business requirements
  • Skilled at learning and exploring features of new technology systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with executive leadership
  • Experience with quality assurance practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to and appreciation of detail
  • Self-directed and dedicated to working as a member of a collaborative team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and process oriented

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience configuring and supporting a faculty career management system
  • Experience working in the faculty affairs domain
  • Experience working within the confines of a cloud-based or packaged product to meet user requirements
Salary Range

$75,000 + depending on qualifications
