WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking a researcher with experience in coordinating analytics teams in integrated communications campaigns as well as quantitative survey research to join our Data Strategy/Audience Analytics (DS/AA) division. This team applies data science and research to create actionable insights and plan and optimize communication campaigns, especially national campaigns for federal clients. The division uses applied data architecture, programming, data visualization, GIS mapping, and statistical modeling to segment audiences and reach them efficiently and effectively. It also combines data from disparate sources into interactive dashboards to facilitate campaign management, optimization and reporting.

The researcher will provide high-level support on programs, including serving in a technical leadership role and an overall managerial role on data analytics campaigns related to communication, outreach, and marketing campaigns. They will contribute to organization direction through regular involvement with senior-level client leadership and maintain productive and effective relationships with senior levels of client organizations. They will develop and implement financial controls for projects and programs and will be responsible for identifying and generating future work to support project teams with innovative solutions that stretch across communications and market research techniques. The researcher will find opportunities to grow substantial new clients and extend additional services to existing clients over time.

Responsibilities include:

*Leading project teams in the design, execution, analysis, and reporting of research and campaign planning activities using quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
*Providing technical leadership and coordinating the completion of project tasks and deliverables across team members while keeping high standards for the team to exceed client expectations.
*Identifying business development opportunities, leading preparation of federal and non-federal research proposals, and coordinating with other Fors Marsh divisions to identify, capture, and respond to business opportunities.
*Developing data science/audience analytics requirements for client strategic problems. Guiding analysis program design, including code reviews and reporting. Overseeing the development of research reports and briefings summarizing research methods, findings, and implications.
*Providing guidance for tailoring these materials for non-technical audiences.
*Building client relationships; developing innovative solutions for client problems and constraints, including dashboards, statistical models, business decision rules, and audience profiles.
*Anticipating potential barriers to project completion, proposing solutions to team leadership.
*Support business development efforts, including building client and contractor relationships, writing technical proposals, developing pricing for opportunities.
*Coordinating with internal teams and vendors to integrate communications campaign media data into campaign performance dashboards.

Qualifications:

* Graduate degree in marketing, communication, data science/analytics, social science, public health or a related field.
* Minimum eight years of relevant research and communications planning experience.
* Experience with large-scale public sector communication campaigns for behavior change across multiple communication channels including paid advertising, earned media, and owned channels.
* Expertise in communication analytics and rapid campaign optimization activities; familiarity with integrated communications teams with multiple disciplines including creative, media buying, and campaign strategy.
* Experience in marketing, advertising, communication, public health, or social science.
* Extensive experience designing, conducting, analyzing and reporting on quantitative communication research including large public opinion surveys and statistical models.
* Experience creating visual and written summaries of research results (e.g., in PowerPoint and Word) that can be understood by non-technical audiences.
* High comfort with business intelligence tools like Tableau and Power BI from initial requirements gathering through to utilization for decision-making.
* Experience presenting research results to audiences with varying levels of research sophistication.
* Experience with business development, including identifying opportunities and preparing proposals.
* Demonstrated leadership in securing new clients and extending existing client relationships into additional services and new products.
* High degree of team orientation. Experience leading project teams in the execution of research.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
* Comfort with fast-paced and evolving settings and balancing multiple priorities.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.
* Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Knowledge of marketing metrics, marketing principles, and terminology.
*Experience combining survey datasets with media datasets or governmental datasets.
*Experience conducting audience segmentations.
*Experience in applied research as part of a government contract.
*Experience working with government agencies such as HHS, Census Bureau, Department of Defense, FDA, or CDC.
