Director of Engineering Services

Duro-Last, a division of the Holcim Building Envelope, is the industry leaders and world's largest manufacturer of custom-fabricated roofing systems. Utilizing a prefabricated and completely customized development process, Duro-Last provides commercial roofing systems to a global customer base. Headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan, Duro-Last produces all of their systems leveraging five plants located across the United States.

We are searching for a Director of Engineering Services that will report directly to the Vice President of Sales and play a key role in the future growth and development of the business. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of success in engineering management, driving continuous development of technical projects, and ownership of metrics-based leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

• Consults with President and Vice President of Sales to create long-range operating, product, and manufacturing goals specific to the needs of the organization.
• Develops new products from concept to testing to production.
• Collaborates with sales and marketing department to determine market potential for new products.
• Manage technical documents/data related to systems, products and design.
• Oversight of product specification updates, including development of new product specifications as necessary.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to streamline product testing approvals with third-party agencies.
• Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
• Provide leadership to industry organizations/committees.
• Plans and coordinates the work of engineering staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive and provides training and mentoring.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills:

• 10 years or more of increasing responsibility of engineering leadership within a manufacturing and/or construction engineering environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with a Professional Engineering (PE) certification strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and communication skills, including use of latest software technologies such as MS Office.
• Strong national building codes knowledge.
• Skillset in collaborating with executive leaders to realize enterprise level strategy and goals for commercial success and business development.
• Proven ability to manage the completion of product development programs from identification to testing and launch.
• Working knowledge of leading engineers and technical specialists in an industrial environment.
• Possessing a strong ownership mentality to realize success in an entrepreneurial environment.
