The Senior Compensation Analyst II uses a foundation in compensation and analytics to advance compensation initiatives and provide data insights. This role supports the Compensation Director in developing, implementing, optimizing, and communicating the organization's global compensation programs. Key responsibilities include independently managing specific projects and processes related to compensation, as well as conducting research and analytics to communicate actionable trends and business insights for data-driven decision-making.

The Senior Compensation Analyst will manage compensation data and processes within Workday, responding to the organization's compensation needs by designing data-driven solutions such as reports and dashboards. They will also respond to the organization's communication needs by providing guidance and creating and delivering content to improve employee understanding of MSH's compensation approaches.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

General Compensation Support (60%)

  • Support the development, administration, and communication of the organization's global compensation programs by independently completing tasks and projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, job evaluation, market pricing, development and maintenance of salary structures, and administration of the annual compensation review process.
  • Oversee specific projects or processes such as:
    • Survey participation and analysis
    • MSH's spot bonus recognition program
    • MSH's internal promotions and salary adjustment cycles
  • Play a lead role in managing the day-to-day activities of the annual compensation review. This includes overall project management, Workday configuration and testing of the compensation module, and the development and delivery of training and communications.
  • Participate in compensation surveys. Compile and analyze survey data to provide recommendations regarding the competitiveness of compensation.
  • Evaluate compensation for MSH positions to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity. Conduct cyclical pay reviews and analyses.
  • Appropriately classify jobs and ensure compliance with regulatory statutes related to compensation practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation HRIS Data Management (20%)

  • Collaborate with the HRIS team to manage all compensation data and processes in Workday.
  • Enhance Workday for the compensation function. Support data accuracy efforts, create reports and dashboards, and develop new business processes to automate new and existing processes.
  • Implement changes and enhancements, troubleshoot, and perform systems testing.

Compensation Communications (20%)

  • Provide support and guidance as a subject matter resource on compensation matters to HR colleagues, managers, and employees. Respond to inquiries and provide clarification on compensation-related questions.
  • Make recommendations regarding the organization's needs for compensation education and communications.
  • Develop and maintain content related to compensation on the organization's intranet or communication platforms.
  • Create and deliver educational materials and presentations on compensation principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure alignment of compensation communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree required; a degree in organizational behavior/psychology, mathematics, finance, or a related field is preferred

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of direct compensation experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Compensation Knowledge: Strong understanding of compensation practices, principles, and regulatory topics; solid grasp of HR fundamentals.
  • HRIS Knowledge: Proven experience with HRIS data management and reporting; Workday compensation experience is highly preferred.
  • Excel Proficiency: Proficient in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and lookups; adept at preparing and analyzing data, and providing conclusions.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates a meticulous approach to tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey compensation information clearly to employees at all organizational levels.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability in managing processes or projects, including planning, establishing timelines and milestones, coordinating resources, tracking progress, ensuring timely delivery, and communicating project status and updates to stakeholders.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills with a talent for connecting the dots and exploring data-driven insights.
  • Market Research: Demonstrated ability in conducting market research to benchmark and analyze competitive compensation practices.
  • Statistical Understanding: Fundamental knowledge of statistics.
  • Problem-solving: Demonstrates resourcefulness and effectiveness in identifying and resolving issues and challenges. Anticipates problems or concerns that may arise and takes proactive measures to address them.
  • Prioritization and Multitasking: Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

    The expected salary range for this position is: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 annually (U.S. locations only).
