Job Description:

Job Summary:

Performs tasks involved in the production of metal parts; responsible for simple to complex set ups and operations of computerized numerical control and machining equipment, ensuring completed parts meet quality and ISO standards and work is performed in a safe manner; Must be able to prioritize work, read and understand blueprints, follow a bending sequence and execute tasks as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform simple to complex set ups and operations of computerized numerical control and machining equipment to fabricate metal parts, applying knowledge of plant operations, mathematics, machineability of materials and layout techniques
  • Study blueprints, sketches, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances of finished pieces, sequence of operations and set up requirements
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, pressure and feed and enter commands to retrieve, input and edit computerized machine control operations; Monitor operations to detect malfunctions or out-of -tolerance machining and adjust as necessary.
  • Verify dimensions and conformance of finished pieces to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
  • Confer with engineers, production team members and others to resolve problems
  • Train, assist and support team members in producing quality parts and in completing all process requirements
  • Perform work in a safe manner following all safety rules and all other policies and procedures are followed
  • Perform required regular preventative maintenance checks on equipment to insure proper functioning
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Education/Training

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

5 years machining experience

CNC programming or experience preferred with ability to edit programs

Forklift trained

Skills

Able to work with minimal supervision

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and tape measure

Able to use precision measuring instruments

Strong math ability

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 75 pounds and use an overhead crane for heavier loads

Stand 10 hours a day

Read a computer screen regularly

Factory Environment, high noise level

Salary Range: $18- $23 per hour
