The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The laboratory performs cancer research and the incumbent will perform basic molecular biology experiments. Incumbent will use conventional biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biological methods including molecular cloning, tissue culture, immunostaining, and southern blot analysis and keep records of experimental results.

Responsibilities



  • DNA and RNA preparation,
  • PCR, Recombinant DNA Cloning,
  • Gel Electrophoresis, Protein Analysis
  • Western Blots, Tissue Culture
  • Keep clear records of experimental results
  • Provide experimental support on ongoing projects
  • Other duties include Laboratory safety, monitoring/organizing/ordering laboratory supplies, research reagents, equipment maintenance, and other related duties as required to maintain laboratory compliance.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Computer skills a must (word/excel).
  • Good interpersonal communications skills are required.
  • 0-6 months experience in a laboratory setting.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a research laboratory preferred.
  • Experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology and cell biology techniques.
  • Experience with flow cytometry analysis and mouse husbandry


Other Requirements



  • It may be necessary to work late on occasions to complete experiments.
