Robinson is seeking an Events Coordinator to join the Building Operations team at the Robinson College of Business Buckhead Center. The Buckhead Center is home to Robinson's executive and graduate programs and features technologically advanced lecture-style classrooms, flexible classrooms, and breakout rooms.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate will work with internal and external customers to coordinate the logistics for meetings and events scheduled at the Buckhead Center. This position will handle the arrangements for room setup, technology services, parking, catering, and final invoicing. This position requires an individual with strong organizational skills, excellence in customer service as well as some project management.



  • Work with clients to coordinate meetings and events within our facility. Process event details and provide expert guidance to clients based on event goals.
  • Recommend to the client event space, setups, and resources to support a successful event. Coordinate the selection of suitable event space, catering and refreshments, parking validations, and use of Center resources.
  • Route event contracts and certificate of insurance documents to GSU Legal and other required approvers.
  • Communicate event furniture and resource setup requirements to the departmental facilities team.
  • Connect clients with the Robinson technology team to ensure event technology support needs are arranged.
  • Make food & beverage arrangements with caterers for select events.
  • Provide day-of-event coverage and support.
  • Review and approve event charges before submission to the accounting team.

  • Teacher Retirement System -- TRS is a Defined Benefit Plan, a traditional public pension plan. Employees contribute 6% and USG contributes 19.81% to the plan. Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Two years of event planning experience
  • Facilities operations, project management, and customer service experience in a hospitality setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks independently
  • Ability to think critically about issues and opportunities and identify solutions
  • Self-starter, quick learner with an awareness of meeting deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships

Shift : 8:00 am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday. Flexibility is necessary to work during Events days that could take place during evenings and weekends.
