Purpose of Position
The Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the sorority and fraternity community. Duties include advising fraternities, assisting with programming initiatives, assisting with policy development and implementation with regards to the management of sororities and fraternities. Advisement of the Inter-fraternity Council. Provide support for the Northern Kentucky Leadership Institute by serving as the primary advisor to the Norse Leadership Society and Leadership Mentors. This position will also provide support for Victorfest.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Directly advise one Governing Council while providing direct technical assistance to all councils as needed as well as Chapter Leadership/Officers.
  • Support Northern Kentucky Leadership Institute and all the programs and events sponsored by the organization.
  • Assist with planning for the future growth and development of the fraternity and sorority community including but not limited to evaluation of on-campus chapters and the addition of chapters and development of future councils
  • Attend programs and events outside of normal business hours - this may include evenings and weekends.
  • Create and cultivate partnerships with staff, faculty, alumni,
  • Serve on University wide task forces, committees and work groups as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by the director.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field of study.

Experience: Work generally preferred is a minimum of 2-4 year of experience in student organization support, leadership development, fraternity/sorority life, and program planning at the undergraduate and/or graduate level(s). Prior experience managing full-time and student employees preferred.

Knowledge:
Must be familiar with current leadership theory and high impact practices. Must possess deep knowledge related to program development and co-curricular best practices. Awareness of current assessment practices. Awareness of basic negotiation and contract development. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
