Where You Will Work:

Clearwater Paper's Las Vegas facility produces through-air-dried (TAD) ultra-premium bathroom tissue, household paper towels, facial tissue, and napkins for major retail outlets throughout the United States. Boasting over 200 talented employees, the Las Vegas location sits on 23 acres and uses state-of-the-art technology, automation, and a variety of equipment such as laser-guided vehicles. Located within the Mojave Desert, North Las Vegas sits just northeast of Las Vegas as the 4th largest city in the state of Nevada. The city offers an extensive park and recreation program including 34 parks that cover more than 475 acres of developed parkland. Recently completed Southern Nevada's Neon to Nature regional trail system includes 10 miles used for hiking, biking, and leisurely strolls. What You Will Do:

The Converting Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring Bathroom Tissue machines or Household Towel machines in a continuous production operation, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.



  • Responsible for operating all machines and equipment in the respective area of the Converting Department including Folded, Bathroom, and Towels (Rewinders, wrapping, packing, overhead crane, etc.)
  • Responsible for properly maintaining and disposal of yield and waste management (raw materials)
  • Prepare and load material in preparation for different machines
  • Identify, maintain, and replace equipment as needed including band spent cores, performance and chopper blades, chuck arms, core load pushers, log saw pushers, core winding belt, etc.
  • Operate and observe machines using computer systems and controls
  • Respond to misfeed or jams in machine, removing damaged product as needed
  • Handle routine preventative maintenance and regular maintenance responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and identify mechanical defects, working closely with the Maintenance Team for more complex machining issues
  • Monitor different systems to ensure operational efficiency including core handler, hoist, brake system, drive system, chucking system, lube system, embosser, etc.
  • Perform product quality checks routinely during shift
  • Operate both manually and with crane to transfer and move finished product
  • Complete product changeovers efficiently and according to specifications
  • Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE, fire extinguisher locations, eye wash station, proper use of hand tools and equipment, etc.)
  • Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
  • Maintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities
  • Pick up debris and excess material from work site during and after shift


What You Will Need:

To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • Industrial or Paper Manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12-hour shift
  • Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
  • Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
  • Must be capable of working a rotating 12-hour schedule each month, alternating between day and night shifts. Throughout this time be available weekends, and Holidays & able to work overtime as needed.
