As the Senior Writer, you demonstrate full knowledge in the assigned area and as an experienced sole contributor. You write original content by developing strategy, conducting necessary research, and ensuring content aligns with the business goals and communicate the desired message. You execute core content that may be leveraged through print and digital channels. You coach and mentor other writers and conduct peer reviews to provide editorial guidance.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Develop original content to collaborate with content stakeholders to determine strategic direction, key objectives, and themes for content.
  • Develop structure, outline and content, and is involved in setting design direction for writing projects in alignment with the briefs.
  • Research statistical, product, audience, anecdotal and other relevant information to successfully complete writing projects. Utilize online information, statistical databases and research library.
  • Conduct interviews with senior business leaders and investment professionals.
  • Write original content for communications, including, but not limited to, marketing materials, reports on markets and portfolios, articles, and topical pieces for various audiences. Translate complex ideas into compelling, audience-appropriate communications.
  • Ensure content aligns with business goals, communicate the desired message to the intended audience, and adhere to corporate brand standards, style guides, and legal and compliance guidelines.
  • Translate content for delivery in multiple channels, utilizing the content management tool to develop individualized sets and elements and to tag for search engine optimization.
  • Synthesize input from sources with diverse perspectives to create content representative of collective contributors. May provide rationale for content decisions to senior staff.
  • Act as the primary contact for a project's reviewers during circulations.
  • Execute core and promotional content that will be leveraged through multiple content channels using the content management system.
  • May collaborate with the designer to develop layout and concepts. Liaise with other business groups.
  • Provide direction, expertise and feedback to other writers by editing content to reflect current tone, statistics and timeframes.
  • Provide editorial direction or guidance to other Writers. Keep abreast of company, industry and regulatory changes, and internal initiatives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • You demonstrate sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity.
  • You demonstrate a working knowledge of Financial Industry Regulatory Authority filing procedures and Legal approvals.
  • You demonstrate in-depth knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar and style guides, and the ability to apply it to work assignments.
  • You demonstrate in-depth knowledge of multiple content channels.
  • You demonstrate in-depth knowledge of financial and investment concepts, financial markets and asset management industry. You exhibit knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area.
  • You demonstrate the ability to evaluate and appropriately address privacy and confidentiality concerns when dealing with others.


Southern California Base Salary Range: $131,596-$210,554

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
