The Ma Lab in the Division of Public Health Sciences at Fred Hutch is seeking a highly motivated master-level Research Assistant to develop novel statistical/computational methods for problems in microbiome science. Specific topics include, but are not limited to, high-dimensional data analysis, multivariate association analysis, graphical models and network analysis, etc. Prior experience in microbiome science is not required. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is interested in a collaborative environment and interacting with investigators with diverse experiences.

This is a part-time, temporary position.



Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with Dr. Jing Ma in developing novel statistical/computational methods in microbiome science. They will have opportunities to join collaborative research projects within Fred Hutch and University of Washington as well as external collaborations.



Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a closely related area prior to their appointment;
  • Strong programming skills in a statistical language (e.g. R, Python).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in high-dimensional data analysis.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $19.97 to $48.08 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
