Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior BI Data Engineer with a strong background in architecting and developing data analysis and reporting solutions for healthcare to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be accountable for architecting, developing, and maintaining our data platform and business intelligence solutions, ensuring the effective integration and analysis of clinical data. This role requires proficiency in SQL, extensive experience in how to design and build modern BI solutions for healthcare and a deep understanding of healthcare data structures. The role also requires the ability to collaborate with existing enterprise level architects and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:



  1. Drive enterprise level architecture for Data Platform





    • Collaborate with database architects in the design and development of reporting, analytics and data warehouse infrastructure
    • Collaborate with application architects and engineering leadership in the technical execution of the enterprise data strategy





  1. Data Integration and Modeling:





    • Design and implement data models for data integration, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
    • Collaborate with database and infrastructure teams on design, implementation and maintenance of data platform.
    • Develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into reporting data warehouse.






  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:





    • Work with cross-functional teams to create and optimize reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with Talis stakeholders and customers to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
    • Perform complex data analysis, identify any root causes of system issues and assist with developing resolutions.






  1. Quality Assurance:





    • Implement data quality checks and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data.
    • Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and maintain data quality standards.






  1. Performance Tuning:





    • Optimize the performance of BI solutions, ensuring efficient querying and reporting capabilities.
    • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in collaboration with the infrastructure team.




Qualifications:



  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. Prior experience as a BI architect or higher
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI data engineering.
  4. Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
  5. Strong proficiency with reporting and BI tools including Power BI and SSRS.
  6. Exposure to ETL processes and tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, etc.).
  7. Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:



  1. Experience working with clinical/healthcare data.
  2. Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  3. Knowledge of advanced analytics and machine learning concepts.
