Overview

As a Water Resources Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) you'll help with expanding the Water Resources Group's services working on projects addressing / supporting municipal stormwater management and permit compliance, National Flood Insurance Program compliance, earthen dam breach and inundation analyses, stormwater infrastructure analysis and design, erosion and sediment control design, Civil site and infrastructure design, and stream and wetland restoration. You will work with and under the guidance of professional engineers, senior staff, and peers. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge, participate in networking and client development, and grow your interests in water resources related engineering.

Qualified candidates have a basic understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles and strong written and verbal communication skills. With guidance from senior engineers and peers, qualified candidates will be expected to conceptualize hydrologic and hydraulic modeling approaches to meet specific project needs and interpret and summarize modeling results from data-rich analyses. Regular duties will include developing calculation reports/narratives for assigned tasks, performing critical peer reviews of internal work products, and developing design drawings in Autodesk Civil3D.



Qualifications

    B.S. in Civil Engineering and successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination;
  • M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferable but not required;
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in hydraulic and hydrologic analyses;
  • Experience using Civil3D or similar products;
  • Exposure to modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, TR-55, etc.; and
  • Ability to perform field work and travel when necessary.
