Description Job Summary: The Charge Integrity Analyst is responsible for troubleshooting charge issues, performing charge capture and maintenance of the CDM.Fully Remote Position Description of Job Responsibilities: Reviews, validates, and compliantly charges for appropriately documented services. Performs charge capture for ED Visit levels, procedures performed during the ED visit, as well as the administration of infusions, injections, and vaccines. Collaborates with Emergency Departments, Reimbursement, Compliance, Health Information Management, and Patient Financial Services on charging, documentation, and billing issues. Identifies and troubleshoots charge issues and opportunities for charge/process enhancements. Analyzes and coordinates electronic data files with hospital departments and ensures missed charges are billed. Creates and submits quarterly reports to monitor the impact of missed revenue and the outcome of revenue posted. Submits recommendations and assists hospital departments with corrective action plans. Audits revenue reports to ensure charge accuracy, reviews daily high dollar reports to confirm precision of charge amount and units billed, and coordinates activities with hospital departments to make charge corrections. Performs periodic charge audits to ensure appropriate charging of services based on medical documentation. Compiles reports and submit findings and recommendations to department managers. Assists with maintenance of the charge master by performing daily validation of the CDM, reconciles monthly CDM files, and actively meets project deadlines. Reviews departmental charge capture procedures and maintains yearly review of documented procedures, updating as appropriate. Maintains a copy of all charging procedures, and audits departments to ensure they are following documented protocol.Other Information Educational Requirements:Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience). Professional Experience Requirements: If a Bachelor's degree: One (1) years of business/healthcare experience. If an Associate's degree: Three (3) years of business/healthcare experience. If a High School diploma or GED: Five (5) years of business/healthcare experience. No licensure or certification required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:Results oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic, project-oriented environment. Proficient in time management with superior prioritization skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to professionally present information to all levels of management. Understanding of overall hospital revenue cycle functions including CPT codes, modifiers, and infusion/injection hierarchy.
