Job Description:

The Senior Manager Tech Ops Strategy invests in the future of Southwest's People by leading Teams that deliver the analysis, design, and implementation of critical change initiatives across Technical Operations and Commercial Departments. This role is responsible for dedicated analysis, program management and alignment on cross-operational initiatives and Network or Workforce design needs. Additionally, in partnership with both Operations and Commercial departments, this role is responsible for leading Teams and efforts that align our People, assets, and network to reduce cost and complexity; maximize revenue opportunities; and adapt our Operations to changing external and internal conditions. The Senior Manager Tech Ops Strategy is a strong communicator who is strategic and comfortable managing competing priorities whiledriving consensus in a dynamic environment in order to drive the future of Southwest.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or mentor other Leaders

  • Act as a thought leader and serve as a trusted advisor to Operations Executives

  • Drive consensus among multiple parties with conflicting and diverse viewpoints

  • Identify, lead and drive analytics around complex Network, Operational and Workforce opportunities

  • Effectively prioritize, manage and deliver multiple programs and projects simultaneously

  • Develop strategies and business insights from quantitative and qualitative information

  • Structure complex and ambiguous problems and act to holistically solve them

  • Create value through identifying and implementing business improvements

  • Develop and coordinate well-written presentations that are clear and convey key information, including business cases, roadmaps, and other materials that support alignment efforts

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidence and trust with executive leadership

  • Skilled in synthesizing complex information within PowerPoint presentations

  • Skilled in visualizing data to drive insights using tools such as think-cell, MS Excel etc

  • Skilled in team-building and consensus-building

  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and lead through influence

  • Knowledgeable about the industry and themes that could/should influence strategic direction

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree

  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Science Administration or Business Management

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)

  • Advanced level Business Acumen in functional area

  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:

    • Driving complex cross-functional initiatives and aligning stakeholders at all levels

    • Breaking down and solving ambiguous problems through quantitative and qualitative analysis

    • Developing strategies, plans, and decisions, and communicating them to executive leadership

  • Seasoned and specialized knowledge in:

    • In Aerospace OEM, MRO, Technical Operations, Airline Operations, Planning or Strategy-related experience

  • Preferred: Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and Tableau

  • N/A

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

  • May be required to work extended hours per Leader's request

Pay & Benefits:

  • Competitive market salary from $ $151,400 - 168,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
