Job Description

Become a champion for children's health with a career at Children's Hospital Association (CHA). We serve with purpose and passion to help 220 member children's hospitals improve kids' health and well-being.

Where You'll Work
This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You'll Do
Serves as a consultant to leaders, providing guidance and direction on HR-related issues. Carries out a wide array of responsibilities including employee relations, learning & development, policy implementation, talent acquisition, and other areas related to retention of CHA's talent.



  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assists with creating new HR processes and procedures and maintains/updates existing procedures.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations concerns. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Ensures compliance with required state and federal employment law postings.
  • Annual compliance reporting and audits (FLSA, EEO, I-9)
  • Leads training and development programs, including conducting needs analysis and assessments to ensure talent development programs are targeted to improve overall productivity and effectiveness with leaders.
  • Creates content and facilitates training, engaging with outside vendors when appropriate.
  • Partners with the leadership team to build a talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

Experience and Skills

What You'll Bring to CHA
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.



  • Bachelor's degree in business or Human Resources preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of human resources experience.
  • Solid understanding of labor laws, rules and regulations associated with HIPAA, FLSA, FMLA and other employment laws.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Office 365). Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Coaching/facilitation/conflict management skills.
