Job Summary Join our Electrical Engineering team in Danbury, CT.In this role, you will be working on the development of and maintenance/enhancement of Instrumentation and Control products for Naval and Commercial Nuclear applications. NPS offers a rare environment where projects are diverse; ranging from legacy systems designed in the 1980's to the latest technology, ensuring that engineers remain challenged by their work. Engineers are involved in shaping project concepts from the start; collaborate on designs; contribute through individual implementation efforts; and see the results of their accomplishments through completion of integration and test. What You Will Do Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various electronics systems May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed Compile and evaluate design and test data Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches Support and participate in technical activity Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments Ability to work independently under supervision of others Provide regular reporting of progress and status Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required May participate in preparation of less complex proposals Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Some prior work experience is ideal (internship or full-time) Familiar with industry standard design tools and methodology Excellent communicator and collaborator Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment Leonardo DRS, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates are equal opportunity employers and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. #NPS
