Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Manager - North America Events to lead and project manage key workstreams in our most impactful client events across the U.S. and Canada. This professional needs to understand strategic business objectives and help translate them into successful event programs with a passion for project management, problem solving and event production.

As a member of the North America Events team, you are responsible for supporting the execution of a varied portfolio of client and internal events. The types of events include, but not limited to, annual sales leadership meetings and large client-facing events with C-level attendees. Candidate is tech savvy with a forward-thinking mindset focusing on what is next in the event industry, and with direct experience implementing strategic event management.

While proximity to Visa's corporate headquarters is preferred, qualified candidates in other markets will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage various types of event programs and workstreams such as large-scale client conferences with C-level attendees, Client Roundtables, User Conferences, Hospitality Events and internal All-Staffs and Annual Sales Meetings.
  • Project lead on key workstreams for the team's largest tentpole events including content development, creative and experiential, attendee management and registration, product showcase, and event technology.
  • Lead event programs end-to-end across multiple workstreams and serve as the single threaded owner for event project plans, RACI development, event summary updates, event budgets, cross-functional team and stakeholder management, creative ideation and reviews, and vendor / agency partner management.
  • Draft, design and distribute event communications pre-, during, and post-programs (i.e., meeting calendar holds, save the dates, invitations, registration reminders, event newsletters, push notifications, event surveys).
  • Develop and maintain accurate event budgets, project workback schedules, communications calendars, administer and reconcile event payments/invoice.
  • Manage and report on pre-event registration and post-event metrics/analytics.
  • Be onsite during events in support of overall event management (registration desk, speaker support, hotel/venue management, shipping, production support, etc.),15-20 percent travel required.
  • Manage event giveaway inventory with fulfillment partners.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Direct experience on an events team (agency or in-house) for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Direct event production support experience for large corporate events of 1000 plus attendees.
  • Tradeshow production and execution a plus.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, pivot quickly, and respond with urgency.
  • Positive approach and commitment to collaboration with shared purpose.
  • Knowledge of virtual event platforms such as Cvent, Swoogoo, On24, Eventfinity and virtual meetings using MS Teams and/or WebEx
  • Proficient in MS suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Savvy with technology with a data-focused mindset.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 133,000.00 to 192,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
