Summary

The MIL Corporationis seeking aJunior Cyber Systems Engineer (Cyber Security Network Architecture, Junior Analyst) to support our MLS/CDS laboratory and cyber activities for ongoing MILCON projects.

This position currently requires a remote schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities



  • Conduct cybersecurity engineering efforts to produce secure technical solutions on all assigned projects
  • Assist system administrators/engineers with configuration and maintenance activities on lab equipment
  • Develop and oversee cyber hardening on all lab equipment utilizing DoD and industry best practices
  • Confer with all project stakeholders on product/vendor selection process.
  • Perform Cybersecurity evaluation and risk management activities as assigned
  • Develop and produce cybersecurity artifacts for projects as required
  • Assist with one or more of the following:


    • Configurations, manage, and trouble shoot devices such as routers, switches, keyboard video and mouse (KVM) devices, network attached storage (NAS) devices, etc.
    • Creation of virtual machines (VMs) and load / configure operating systems
    • Configuration of disk drives and RAID controllers
    • Troubleshooting and isolation of network issues and resolution through reconfiguration or replacement of devices
    • Work with technical writers/stakeholders to complete and update policy.
    • Maintain communication and comprehension of work prioritization


  • Adhere to tasks assigned by respective Cybersecurity/Program leads


Travel

Approximately 10% per year, as needed.

Required Qualifications



  • 3 years of IT experience
  • Solid understanding of basic IT functionality
  • Comprehension of basic networking tenants
  • Basic understanding cybersecurity methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel


Desired Qualifications



  • IT/Cyber Certification
  • Red Hat Linux experience
  • Proficiency with excel formulas and graphs
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Experience with slide decks and graphics
  • Current DoD or Homeland Clearance


Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college. Six (6) years of additional work experience related to the position or an Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret Clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $60,000 - $80,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
