Summary: This position is eligible for our Clinical Laboratory Incentive Program. To learn more on the incentive program guidelines and eligible positions, visit Performs a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of the clinical activities in the UNCHCS.This position has responsibilities in the following sections of the laboratory - Central Processing, Bacteriology, and Special Microbiology sections of the laboratory. The Special Microbiology section consists of Mycobacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, and Sendouts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Direct specimen processing and direct specimen Gram stains Rapid antigen testing - Cdiff, Strep, Legionella, Trichomonas, Mono, Crypto Rapid molecular/PCR testing - RSV, Flu, Cdiff, Gram Positive Susceptibility COVID testing Total Lab Automation instrumentation (BD Kiestra), plate reading and organism ID Susceptibility testing - automated and KB Quality control of instruments, reagents, and media Hours: Monday-Friday 1:00pm-9:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm with rotating weekends Thursday-Sunday 10:00am/11:00am-8:30pm/9:30pm Wednesday-Saturday or Sunday-Wednesday 10:00am-8:30pm *Other schedule options can be discussed at interview Responsibilities: Other Information Other information: Job Details Legal Employer: STATE Entity: UNC Medical Center Organization Unit: Microbiology Laboratory Work Type: Full Time Standard Hours Per Week: 40.00 Work Schedule: Evening Job Location of Job: US:NC: Chapel Hill Exempt From Overtime: Exempt: No Work Assignment Type: Onsite Salary Range: $24.13-$34.70 (Hiring Range) Pay offers are based on experience and internal equity Qualified applicants will be considered without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
