Position: Financial Analyst

Department: Finance

Reporting to: Assistant Controller

Location: Topeka, KS - Onsite

Overview:

Are you ready to make an impact at the heart of our financial operations? Join us as a Financial Analyst, where you'll be pivotal in ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of revenue. Dive into analyzing revenue transactions, ensuring compliance, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive revenue recognition. What you'll do:


  • Review and analyze revenue transactions for all insurance product lines, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reconciliations
  • Audit the revenue reporting in the General Ledger and CRM system
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure accuracy of revenue recognition
  • Maintain listing of carrier bonus agreements, levels achieved, and payment timings
  • Track carrier trail agreements and review payments to ensure accuracy
  • Report and analyze revenue trends
  • Participate in month-end close process, with a focus on journal entries related to revenue
  • Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations related to revenue transactions
  • Identify areas for optimization and implementation of best practices in revenue accounting
  • Assist with forecast and budgeting of revenue for all insurance product lines


Experience you'll bring:


  • 2+ years of experience in finance and accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and revenue recognition standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment


Bonus Points:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, data analysis, or a related field
  • Experience with Quickbooks and Salesforce
  • Experience in the financial service industry
