The Director of Advanced Practitioners is responsible for leading and supporting advanced practice nurses and physician assistants in their professional development, ensuring all regulatory, accreditation and clinical standards are met, including identifying, measuring and evaluating clinical and departmental outcomes. Responsible for coordinating and facilitating continuing education and practice standards for all advanced practice practitioners across Springfield Clinic. Job Relationships Principal Responsibilities - Contribute as the subject matter expert on all issues related to Advanced Practice Professionals - Serves on the Quality Management, Credentialing and TouchWorks Advisory Board (other committees as needed such as AAAHC). - Collaboration of advanced practice recruitment, onboarding and retention with Business Development, HR, Credentialing and Operations. - Responsible for consultation in Quality issues to promote a culture of professionalism across the clinic. - Partner with senior leadership and the Physician partnership to establish short and long-range strategic goals for Advanced Practice Professionals (APP). - Build relationships with Physician leaders and Operations to achieve the Springfield Clinic mission, vision and goals. - Collaborate with HR and finance to implement competitive compensation strategies for APPs. - Monitor and maintain evidenced-based care standards, regulatory requirements and productivity expectations for APPs. - Active involvement with government agencies related to State and National advanced practice. - Encourage appropriate utilization of APPs across the clinic. - Promote interdisciplinary practice and implement strategies to overcome barriers to collaboration. - Market the advanced practice role within and outside of the health system. - Chair the APP Advisory Council supporting professional practice of APPs across the continuum. - Availability for advanced practice issues as a peer contact person. - Provide leadership, attend and participate in SC meetings as requested, task forces, retreats, etc. as a representative of the Department or as requested by the CMO. Provide feedback and follow-up to CMO and/or appropriate Operations leaders. - Collaborate with any School of Nursing Advanced practice program faculty as a resource. - Provide leadership in support of accreditation, program certification and regulatory activities of the organization, including, but not limited to AAAHC, CMS, Patient Safety programs and others identified by the Clinic, health system or Department. - Serve as a role model for advanced practice professional nursing and physician assistant staff through conduct, appearance, communication, mutual respect and diversity, positive change, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
