Test Engineer II - Lunar Permanence

Lunar Permanence is Blue Origin's team dedicated to developing mission architectures such as our planned Lunar Lander program, Blue Moon (Link: https://www.blueorigin.com/blue-moon ).

Our Lunar Permanence team is developing our lunar landers to demonstrate core capabilities - including the BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and advanced integrated power and propulsion architecture. The team building this vehicle is rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performing architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

• Develop and execute fluid and mechanical test plans and procedures
• Coordinate with NASA in directing test crews leading daily test operations and operating test consoles
• Understand and troubleshoot fluid and instrumentation systems
• Design, define, procure, and install system test components and materials; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation
• Proactively prepare status updates and communicate within the organization and with direct customers

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or related field
• 2+ years experience with pressurized equipment, and or 2+ years experience with structural testing in a highly regulated environment
• Ability to self-start, drive communication and coordination across test sites
• A strong safety record
• Experience leading test teams as a Test Conductor or Test Engineer
• Experience reading P&ID schematics/layout designs
• Experience developing fluid or mechanical systems installation and checkout procedures

• Cryogenic systems experience
• Experience with participating in NASA technical reviews
• Experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems
• Understands/experience with hazardous operations
