The Project Director of TRIO Upward Bound (Atlanta-Gwinnett and Math/Science) is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, operations, and the overall administration and supervision of the TRIO Upward Bound grants including planning, administering, budgeting, marketing, evaluating the program, and supervising professional staff.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Project Director is also charged with continually monitoring the progress of students to ensure they successfully meet the goals set out by the Upward Bound Grant Requirements (academic achievement, college matriculation, etc.) and ensure that university the policies, objectives, and standards of the US Department of Education guidelines for TRIO Upward Bound and federal regulations governing grant programs are met. The Project Director is the chief liaison to other university departments and the community and will report to the Senior Director for Student Success Programs.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Master's degree and 5 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

A minimum of a Master's degree in counseling, higher education, or a closely related field from an accredited college/university is required.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of full-time (or equivalent) professional-level experience managing support services programs or counseling students from first-generation, low-income, backgrounds or those with disabilities and academically underprepared college students is required.

The Project Director of Upward Bound must have a specific understanding of and sensitivity to multicultural differences/needs; ability to set goals based on participants needs, manage financial and human resources, and possess extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Spectrum, PanthersMart, and Blumen. Knowledge of Financial Aid practices in higher education settings is preferred. The Director also must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Previous TRIO work experience is a plus.
