Gallery Officer

We are seeking candidates for part-time Gallery Officers. Our professional security staff is responsible for safeguarding and providing assistance to museum visitors and staff within and around the museum complex. In addition, Gallery Officers are responsible for enforcing all museum security policies and procedures in order to protect PEM's notable collections, exhibits, and property. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, enjoy working with the public and uphold a professional attitude at all times. This is a forward facing role that is encouraged to interact with the public while maintaining security protocols. Demonstrated customer service skills are important to this position. Training and uniforms are provided.

Interest or education in criminal justice, and prior security experience or military service strongly preferred. Experience in a museum, cultural institution or non-profit organization is a plus. Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license, be available to work at off-site Museum properties on the North Shore and be available to work weekend shifts. Conversational fluency in a language other than English is a plus.
