Its range of interests includes curriculum, instructional personnel, assessment, accreditation, international initiatives, and oversight of the overall academic mission. The mission of Undergraduate Education is to provide all students with a quality, engaging undergraduate education that gives them the tools to be Engaged Citizens and Well-Rounded Scholars who are Prepared to act. Undergraduate Education manages the Undergraduate and Mason Core Curriculum, Academic Advising, Fellowships, University Studies Program, and the Mason Impact initiatives including Civic Engagement. About the University Studies Program Mission - University Studies facilitates the holistic development of undergraduate students through academics, career exploration, self-discovery, and meaningful community engagement as they transition to, through, and beyond Mason. Our First Year Transition courses connect new Mason students to faculty/staff, to one another and to campus resources for a successful transition to college. These courses help students develop essential skills for academic success, personal development, well-being, and career exploration. Through these courses, we aim to lay the foundation for an engaged community of Mason learners throughout the undergraduate experience. About the Position: The Training and Recruitment Specialist will be an integral member of the University Studies team and report to the Associate Director of University Studies. The specialist will work with other members of the Undergraduate Education team, and, to a lesser extent, with other campus partners, to recruit and train faculty and peer advisors for the University Studies unit. The position requires running on-campus after-hours meetings for peer advisors about once a month and attending other after-hours events on an as-needed basis.
