Job Description

Our IFF team in Palo Alto, located at the Genencor Technology & Innovation Center, have been pioneers in the industrial biotechnology field for over 40 years.

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Process Development team.

In this role, you will be working with a group of scientists and engineers in our state-of-the-art research & development facility. This team is responsible for the fast-paced and hands-on development of biologically produced enzymes, proteins, & biochemicals across a range of businesses. You will have exposure to all stages of process development: from discovery to manufacturing technology transfer.

Job Requirements

Specific duties include:




  • Development of downstream processes for biologically produced products using various separation technologies (membranes, depth filtrations, & centrifugation.)
  • Work independently to design, plan, execute, and analyze scalable process experiments in laboratory and pilot plant.
  • Work collaboratively with process technicians, development engineers, research scientists, and global supply teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Transfer of new processes into manufacturing sites and support of continual improvement.
  • Investigate and develop new methods and technologies for advancement of projects.
  • Preparation and presentation of technical reports, data summaries, protocols, and other technical and regulatory documentation.



Requirements:




  • Training: Biochemical / Chemical Engineering or related field
  • BS or MS with 0 - 5 years hands-on experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with good organizational skills
  • Some travel required



Compensation ($82,400 - 110,000) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
