DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, performs routine to complex Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radioactive materials and radioactive pharmaceuticals in accordance with established Nuclear Medicine guidelines and protocols. Performs radionuclide imaging of organs, organ systems, compartments physiologic functions, assays of body fluids, tissues and radiobioassays. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of Nuclear Medicine imaging. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety.

Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Nuclear Medicine protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Follows protocols specified by the Radiologist. Educates patient, collects patient history, and communicates patient information to the Radiologist. Enters complex data into the computer systems. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical quality and image quality. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • California Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician license issued by NMTCB OR Registered Technologist for Nuclear Medicine Technology issued by ARRT (R.T(N)(ARRT)).

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Recent graduate of a school of accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program.

  • Recent experience in a similar role and setting or new graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine technology program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.
  • One (1) year of hospital experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, On-Call and overtime, if necessary.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $115,111 - $152,069 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $55.13 - $72.83

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
