The Associate, Energy Management will provide day-to-day oversight and management of utility processes and change management support to department leadership across operations and investment teams. The Energy Management Team is responsible for providing a consistent experience for Link Customers and operating Link properties with a high level of efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of account setup, closure, transfer, bill pay, and vendor management for utility related transaction processes

  • Responsibility for position-specific activities related to Link's Utility Bill Management Partners, utility budgets, monthly, quarterly and annual accruals, and energy and data inventory management

  • Managing the migration activities for region specific leasing and ownership life cycles across all utility services from open to close accounts in close coordination with property management, acquisitions, and property accounting

  • Responsible for energy procurement governance and quarterly performance reporting

  • Support Link's energy management programs to reduce energy cost and consumption for Link and its customers

  • Responsible for project management related to energy management systems, including reporting, data visualization, and operational efficiencies

  • Compile presentations demonstrating the value of energy products and services offered by Link, as well as project status reporting

  • Develop project plans and performance monitoring mechanisms for ongoing product deployments

  • Analyze whole-building and unit-specific energy consumption, and recommend energy conservation measures

  • Analyze 15-minute interval data and perform operational consulting to reduce energy consumption

  • Perform complex contract analysis for solar lease documents, and translate into financially accurate reporting

  • Manage customer service inquiries related to energy and utility services.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents operating standard business office equipment. Ability to work at construction sites, ability to climb and maneuver on building roofs, uneven terrain.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed in a general office environment. May require extended hours during peak periods. Availability for travel up to 50%-70% of the time to property and construction sites for on-site project monitoring and meeting attendance. Exposure to adverse weather conditions, loud noise, and dust conditions at construction sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 Years industry experience in an energy efficiency role or similar function

  • Knowledge of utility bill payment processes and property accounting fundamentals strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and reporting

  • Demonstrated experience in project management for energy related projects.

  • Proficiency in MS Office.

  • Experience with Yardi preferred.

  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in energy procurement and PPAs/VPPAs desired

  • Ability to manage and track large amounts of data, and to articulate a clear and meaningful message supported by this data

  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and members of the organization.

  • Ability to articulate value of energy products to customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Self-motivation, determination, and initiative in a team environment

  • Demonstrates a high attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment

  • Bachelor's Degree required
