Position Summary
This position will oversee day-to-day operations and will perform research activities within a poultry nutrition laboratory in the Poultry Science Department and at the Poultry Research Center. It also has department-wide responsibilities to ensure facility maintenance, operations, and safety; as well as technical support for departmental outreach efforts.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Excellent time management skills, good oral and written communication skills, and proficiency with standard computer programs. Training in specific laboratory techniques will be available upon hire.

Assists the PI in executing projects involving activities such as animal care, data collection and handling, sample analyses, and keeping detailed log of the experiments.

Ensures the equipment are in good working order. Coordinates lab activities including ensuring timely equipment maintenance (and records), ordering and keeping inventory of chemicals and reagents, MSDS and relevant documents, and maintenance of laboratory SOP, (in collaboration with relevant university offices).

Carrying out of routine laboratory tasks involving operation of analytical equipment and training of lab members on equipment operation as needed-(training; provide technical support; oversee experimental trial planning, coordination, & execution; assist with troubleshooting of lab techniques; provide feedback on written and oral scientific communication).
