Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations. Must have leadership experience, including day to day management, risk management, budget cost and scheduling management, as well as people management.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Position Objectives

  • Develop and lead a world-class Torpedo Engineering team providing a competitive edge to GDMS Torpedo programs. This includes all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, performance management, compensation management, and separation of assigned employees.
  • Accountability to delivering on engineering commitments while always looking to improve quality, speed of delivery and team productivity.
  • Leading a team to design, test and improve the capabilities, durability, and target detection performance of torpedoes.
  • Drive technical excellence into GDMS torpedo program to include delivery of design details, engineering development models, proof-of-design units, proof-of-manufacturing units, low-rate initial production units, and factory test equipment.
  • Drive new technology and capability initiatives and roadmaps, along with enabling cross program collaboration to leverage technologies or designs that may not have been previously considered. Proposal support as required.
  • Ensure the success of the mission through proactive program engagement and innovative ideas.
  • This role is two parts: approximately 20% functional management role and approximately 80% direct charge program role. The direct program work will include technical work and/or leadership, e.g., IPT leadership (Lead or Deputy Lead and/or CAM), technical lead, and/or SE mission).

Target salary range: USD $184,888.40/Yr. - USD $205,110.60/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
