About the Department:

The objective for Film and Video Studies is to 1) Offer courses leading to a BA in Film and Video offering concentrations in directing and producing, production and post-production (cinematography, editing, and sound), and screenwriting. 2) Coordinate (and co-coordinate) series of public film screenings, student showcases, and visiting artist speakers series. 3) Support a cohesive faculty and staff to carry out objectives 1 and 2.

About the Position:

Candidates must have teaching experience and extensive work in Cinematography. A terminal degree (MFA) is recommended, but not required for this opportunity. Please see information for .

The course description follows:
"This course aims to recreate a professional camera department environment. By the end of the course, students should be able to understand and perform the function of first assistant cameraperson or second assistant cameraperson on a camera crew. Students will understand the history, function, art, craft, and science of cinematography."

Responsibilities:



  • Teach Film Cinematography; and
  • Participate in Department initiatives, including meetings, screenings, festivals, etc.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Cinematography or Film;
  • Successful experience teaching college level;
  • Ability to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds; and
  • Established reputation as a Cinematographer.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree in Cinematography or Film.
