Pay Grade: 5

Salary: $42,636.52 - $54,862.95 annually

Job Type: Full Time -In-office position (KCK location)

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Transportation Manager will plan, organize and manage the work of staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements. The Transportation Manager serves as a contact person for all case workers within assigned territories. The Transportation Manager will develop and implement schedules and policy changes for the department. The Transportation Manager will assist in transports as needed. They will collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives to ensure transportation safety. The Transportation Manager monitors operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and all applicable regulations. The Transportation Manager monitors spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets and ensure staffing levels are accurate so that overstaffing or having staff wait extended period to transport clients does not occur. The Transportation Manager directs the day-to-day activities of staff both in person and remotely. The Transportation Manager investigates, in cooperation with other entities, to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures. It is very important to determine the cause of the accident and any method that could be taken to prevent further accidents. The Transportation Manager conducts employee training sessions on subjects such as driver safety/accident prevention. The Transportation Manager will assist the Senior Manager of Environment of Care with fleet utilization policies and procedures, including the oversight of the management of the vehicles that are used by the agency.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires minimum age of 21 years old, a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years' experience with transportation scheduling, overseeing a fleet management and familiarity of the foster care system. Someone who is comfortable with technology is a must, in addition to strong communication skills. Must pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
