Semiconductor Device Engineer

The Opportunity:

Imagine using your scientific and engineering skills to transform DoD research into advanced microelectronics. As a semiconductor FA engineer, you understand the capabilities and critical role of FA in complex integrated circuit development and packaging. That knowledge is key when it comes to assisting the DoD with strategic consulting on research and development to establish reliable and high-performance microsystems.

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical consultant to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), helping oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development programs in microelectronics. Work with world-class scientists and engineers to impact national security investments through the development of cutting-edge technologies. Leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior DoD decision-makers. Maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in the design, fabrication or characterization of semiconductor microelectronic or optoelectronic devices
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with failure analysis techniques using x-ray, optical, acoustic or electron-beam
  • Experience with semiconductor materials characterization
  • Experience with 2.5D/3D microelectronics packaging or optoelectronics packaging
  • Experience with heterogenous integration of semiconductor chips
  • Secret clearance
  • Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
