Job Summary: The Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Technician is a key member of the Argo Plant's TPM implementation team and will implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the factory, with particular focus on improving production efficiency, maximizing line utilization, reducing material wastes, and optimizing labor utilization to delivering year-over-year cost savings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities.
- Develop, recommend, and implement improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes and production lines, with an overall goal of improving safety, quality, efficiency (OEE), waste, and labor utilization.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning material workflow & space requirements, equipment layout, staffing, value stream mapping, and equipment cycle time.
- Reduce or eliminate equipment downtime, material scrap, in-process waste, ergonomic risk, and quality defects utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies such as: 5S, TPM (Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Training & Education, and Early Management Pillars), Daily Management Systems (Centerline, CIL, and Daily Direction Setting), SMED (Quick Changeover), value stream mapping, kaizen teams, SPC & DoE, poka-yoke, and visual controls.
- Create standard operating procedures (SOP's), one-point lessons (OPL's), and PowerPoint training materials. Train associates utilizing SOP's, OPL's, and PowerPoint materials.
- Develop OEE standards for each packaging line using line capability (V-Curve) studies. Track losses at the process and asset level with an overall goal of identifying and prioritizing areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Utilize root cause analysis, error-proofing, and FMEA methodologies to permanently resolve issues and eliminate losses.
- Support maintenance & engineering projects and activities. Facilitate early management (EM), kaizen, or Six Sigma improvement activities.
- Support improvements to the factory's Loss Deployment Systems (RedZone, shift reports, etc.). Track equipment performance and capability, and document and report performance metrics.
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects from conception to delivery, within budget and time constraints. Ensure that resources are allocated appropriately to achieve continuous improvement objectives.
- Develop professional relationships and collaborate with department managers, supervisors, contractors, and hourly associates.
- Routinely write reports, proposals, and recommendations for improvement initiatives.
- Perform and execute other assignments and tasks as directed by manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education:
- High School diploma with additional technical training (trades school, community college, craft apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical).
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical) or Operations Management preferred.
Related Experience:
- 2-3 years proven track record implementing continuous improvement initiatives and TPM in a manufacturing environment.
Equipment/Software Skills:
- Computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of mechanical & drive systems, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, lubrication, fasteners & tools, and electrical power & electronic control systems.
- Able to read blueprints, general arrangement drawings, process & instrumentation diagrams, equipment operations and maintenance manuals.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Six Sigma Certification (Black Belt)
- Deep knowledge and experience implementing TPM and Lean Manufacturing principals.
