POSITION OVERIVEW:

The Data-Driven Marketing Coordinator position is a two-year rotational within the Marketing Development Program that introduces the individual to various facets of the GEICO Marketing Department, focusing on customer-centric marketing optimization and analytics. The rotation begins within the Business Planning & Strategy group, followed by the Marketing Analytics group, and finally the Growth & Journey Marketing team across both prospecting and customer lifecycle.

The Marketing Coordinator role is responsible for successfully supporting marketing initiatives while ensuring deadlines, brand guidelines and budgets are adhered to. The role works cross functionally with internal teams and external partners to meet key business goals and develop marketing ideas.

Collaboration and confidence will be critical to the success of this role. Our marketing organization is rapidly evolving and integrating new functions - so it is important you are comfortable with a high level of interoperability across various internal and external teams to produce solutions as well as developing new methods.

This position will initially report into the Director, Marketing Business Planning with executive sponsorship from the VP, Analytics and VP, Growth & Journey Marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with partners and vendors to ensure timely and accurate implementation of programs.

  • Analyze specific programs and provide recommendations to improve results.

  • Prepare reports on marketing activities utilizing data provided by marketing specialists and outside vendors.

  • Compile and distribute activity reports to marketing associates and management.

  • Manage the clearance of invoices

BUSINESS PLANNING & STRATEGY DELIVERABLE EXAMPLES

  • Review and synthesize GEICO business and insurance category reports for department distribution

  • Identify white space opportunities for GEICO to take share from the competition

  • Manage compilation and distribution of the Business Strategy Updates newsletter

  • Analyze shifts in business metrics and provide perspective on how to capitalize on or reverse trends

  • Coordinate updates for individual business units to highlight how Marketing is supporting their business goals across all verticals

ANALYTICS & INSIGHTS DELIVERABLE EXAMPLES

  • Analyze the performance of digital marketing efforts across multiple channels, including but not limited to search, social media, email, and display/video advertising.

  • Study user behaviors, and working with other analysts to join different data sources for measurement & attribution.

  • Assist with managing and improving processes for tagging and other tracking parameters.

  • Assist with marketing and customer analysis, including but not limited to Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), Retention rate

  • Focus on post reporting that uncovers the "why" behind performance in order to garner learnings that are tangible and actionable.

GROWTH MARKETING DELIVERABLE EXAMPLES

  • Support the ideation and development of growth marketing programs to identify and capture specific consumer life moments

  • Assist with campaign execution across multiple channels ensuring each team has required assets

  • Evaluate the marketing user experience on specific journeys

  • Analyze customer data, providing recommendations for areas of improvement and business value creation

  • Create and track POs/Invoices for partner projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • Marketing internships and/or Marketing coursework experience

  • Strong operator of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Strong aptitude for quantitative analysis, statistics and logic

  • Major in business, mathematics, or a related marketing field of study is strongly preferred

  • Experience in one of the following languages: SAS, SQL, VBA, Python or R

  • Experience in working in a professional environment in-person and/or remotely

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Travel 10% of the time, within the US

  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data and metrics and make recommendations to internal GEICO teams
