Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Perform the task of machining parts per the drawing requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.



  • Must be able to operate engine lathes in a production environment.
  • Must have a basic understanding of how CNC equipment operates.
  • Must be able to operate hand power tools including, but not limited to, hand grinder, hand drill, and other similar equipment.
  • Must be able to operate an overhead crane.
  • Must be able to read vainer calipers, OD micrometer, ID micrometers, depth gages, and related inspection tools and equipment.
  • Must have a good manual dexterity and be able to use a vibrating pencil to perform the task of part marking.
  • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must possess adequate knowledge of safety rules to follow for the safe operation of machine shop equipment.
  • Must have basic knowledge of the cutting tools used in a machine shop.
  • Be able to read blueprints, follow work orders and verbal instructions.
  • Be familiar with Fanuc controls & CNC programming.
  • Must be able to support other areas of the operations based on business needs.
  • Train new employees to develop the knowledge and skills in the forging process.
  • Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.
  • Minimum one year experience working with close tolerance practices of +/- .010 or less, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, crane, and/or other powered industrial equipment.
  • Understand how to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
