Position Summary:
Program Dates: July 5-August 3rd (Mon-Thurs), training, setup and wrap-up days before and after. Work as a Teaching Assistant for academic summer programs run through the Center for Pre-College Programs! Students range in age from post 4th grade through post 11th grade. There are 40 Teaching Assistant positions available. Supervise a group of 25 elementary, middle, or high school students virtually off-campus field trips. Assist classroom instructors in activities related to students' academic development and enrichment in mathematics, communications, computers, science, and engineering.

Essential Functions:
Supervise a group of 25 elementary, middle, or high school students while on campus and on off-campus field trips. Assist classroom instructors in activities related to students' academic development and enrichment in mathematics, communications, computers science, and engineering. Monitor students' behavior in and outside of the classroom and model appropriate behavior for students. Assist teachers in evaluating students' classroom assignments, final projects, and post-tests results. Build positive and appropriate relationships with students as a strong role model and mentor throughout the program.

Additional Functions:
Teaching Assistants are required to attend all general meetings with program directors and staff, training sessions, and the parent/student orientation.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Enrolled in college for the fall 3.0 GPA or higher Available for training starting at the end of May/Beginning of June.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be waived where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
