This opportunity is located within our EnviroLogix business that develops and manufactures testing solutions for detecting GMOs, mycotoxins, plant pathogens, natural toxins and chemical contaminants in multiple agricultural matrices. Job Description The Production Manager is responsible to comprehensively plan, manage, and execute daily production activities for Core Operations (reagent preparation, dry room, spray cell, ELISA manufacture). This position manages Production Technicians and a Production Team Lead for logistics, coordination and execution of all tasks associated with manufacturing. Business & Strategy
- Use of the Ensign-Bickford Operating System (EBOS) as the framework for managing the production. Ability to use EBOS tools to improve performance and enhance the company's operations including problem solving, effective use of Kaizen, and setting of and deployment of strategic priorities within the company's Strategy Deployment Process. Position requires utilizing Ensign-Bickford Operating System (EBOS) principles and tools to achieve breakthrough results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.
- Drive the Strategy Deployment Process (SDP) and strategic company vision. Prioritize activities and use action plans, targets to improve (TTIs), key performance indicators (KPIs) to manage functional area.
- Ensure clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area. Collaborate with cross-functional teams functions / peers for shared goals. Interface with senior leadership for key performance indicator reporting.
- Work with senior leaders and peers for strategy development and execution planning
- Manage overall financial budgeting for functional area. Communicate financial and goal results and key performance indicators to direct reports.

Responsible for planning, directing, monitoring the work of a group of individuals, and taking corrective action when necessary. Facilitate goal creation for functional area and works with managers and supervisors to ensure the goals cascade to all workers.
Production Management
- Develop the production schedules with area leads and maintain production visual board in each area, illustrating the status of the production activities for current projects.
- Monthly assessment of touch labor and equipment resource loading / capacity planning utilizing Microsoft Project or Excel.
- Presentation of forward-looking capacity in all production areas with identification of bottlenecks and shortages to leadership at monthly Sales & Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) meeting.
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure alignment of resources needed to execute backlog and proposed production requirements.
- Create the plan for the weekly work required to be flowing through the production cells. Track team productivity against planned work, ensuring team objectives met and visible using visual boards.
- Evaluate production activities for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive problem solving, corrective actions and identification of systemic issues.
- Present production area performance (safety, quality, delivery, cost (SQDC) and status) to management on the Gemba walk
- Review and approve production Change Requests
- Support new product transfer to production process
- Work with Supply Chain to establish and maintain stocking strategies and effective material Kanban / material replenishment. Ensure proper material issuances and production reporting to ensure floor stock accuracy for team.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, an Engineering Discipline, Business Administration or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience (minimum) in an operations leadership role
- Strong planning skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to motivate people, particularly in a production workforce environment
- Continuous improvement and Kaizen experience and implementation valued
