Responsibilities

The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements. This role will define project requirements for projects considered to be low to medium in complexity. This position acts as a project liaison between the business organization and technology delivery groups. The Business Analyst provides a critical function by capturing and communicating stakeholder's needs, analyzing processes, products, services, and systems with the goal of transforming current processes into future state business capabilities.

    Facilitate project stakeholder, solutions team and project participant meetings
  • Identify and document business and technical requirements using appropriate requirement elicitation techniques
  • Evaluate requirements, decompose high-level information into details or abstract up from low-level information to general understanding of project audience
  • Convert requirements into user stories and tasks while ensuring they are complete, concise, self-contained, unambiguous and testable
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and project team to prioritize requirements
  • Utilize a variety of tools and techniques to model, document and manage outputs of analysis results and deliverables
  • Challenge business assumptions and make suggestions for improvement
  • Assist in executing testing activities to ensure that software meets customer requirements, is of high quality, and meets regulatory compliance if applicable
  • Work with the business users to validate functionality meets the acceptance criteria outlined in user stories
  • Ensure functionality and stability of a system prior to deployment to production


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field required
  • Experience with business or data analysis preferred
  • Financial industry knowledge preferred
  • Process improvement experience required
  • Familiarity with waterfall and agile concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships with business and technology project teams
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and easily adapt to changes
  • Experience with Rally (formerly CA Agile Central) or other agile software, SharePoint, and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel) preferred
  • Business analysis certifications a plus
