Job Details:

Purpose

To provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment for women in need of Maternal Fetal Medicine services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination

  • Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines

  • Interpret antenatal testing (e.g. non-stress tests)

  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care

  • Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, associate providers and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive clinical care

  • Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of clinic to enhance quality of healthcare services to patients

  • Provide patient navigation to provide seamless care coordination between inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Participate in the education of medical students, OB/GYN residents, and fellows

  • Support and participate in research initiatives within the division

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing, science, or equivalent degree and a minimum of three years' experience as a nurse practitioner or physician's assistant. A license to practice in the state of Texas. Three years' experience in providing Maternal Fetal Medicine care. Requires strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced practice environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in nursing, science or equivalent degree and five years of experience providing obstetrical care. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Salary Range

$115,000+ depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
