Senior Software Engineer - FX Products

SMBC Capital Markets Inc is looking for a tech lead in the system software development team with primary responsible for building a front to back FX trading system including the pricing, trade booking and post trade confirmation; also downstream feed to the banks back office system, regulatory reporting.

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $180,000 and $237,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

The candidate will need to be familiar with FX products for both trading, pricing as well as post trade process.
• Be able to independently design and write code in a variety of languages and tool-sets, as well as interacting the existing systems.
• The candidate needs to manage a team of developers and vendor to build the FX platform.
• He or she will demonstrate a high level of problem solving skills, and communicate with traders and other front office staffs as well as with other members of the system team to assess front to back business needs and design and maintain systems to support the business.

• Significant (10+ years) practical work experience in FX products, FX forward/spot and options. Familiar with the post trade process from to back.
• Familiar with major FX vendor solutions such as Broadridge.
• Design and architect the system solution with the vendor and also the downstream system and business team to ensure processes for trade execution, confirmation, settlement, regulatory reporting, accounting.
• Ability to establish a new system; carry out planning, design and implementation in an agile fast moving environment and see through it as a matured production system.
• Ability of manage a team of developers and vendors on delivery the system solution
• Undergraduate or graduate preparation in computer science from a top-tier computer science program (or equivalent)

Not required but significant pluses:

• Experiences on building connectivity and interfaces between various system solution.
