The Data Architect is a member of the ABS Wavesight Architecture team. ABS Wavesight is invested in improving data architecture, data consistency, analytics, and data literacy across the business and evolving the organization to one that is more data-centric, and insights-driven. The Data Architect is responsible for designing and implementing database architecture, design and analysis, migration, and security. This position will be part of the architecture team to design and deploy solutions across all product lines by optimizing various data formats and structures and identifying ideal methodologies for handling and moving enterprise data optimized for use by systems, products, and people. This role is remote-eligible. What You Will Do:

Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. -
Design and build relational and non-relational databases. -
Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts. -
Design and develop Databases, Data Warehouses, and Multidimensional Databases. -
Design and develop a strategy for Data Archiving. -
Develop database solutions to store and retrieve information. -
Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions. -
Provide operational support for Management Information Systems (MIS) -
Develops database solutions by designing the proposed system, defining the database's physical structure and functional capabilities, and security, backup, and recovery specifications. -
Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems. Architect data and data pipeline solutions optimized and curated for analytics on various types of data with scalability in mind -
Lead the data warehouse development process and processes related to AI/ML as those capabilities are established, including planning and monitoring systems development efforts, coordinating activities with other groups, reviewing deliverables, and communicating status to management. -
Collaborates and aligns with Organizational Security and Enterprise Architecture teams. -
Can create and deploy accurate architecture and analyses in a relatively short period -
Responsible for scalability and performance as it relates to existing data warehouse and future data applications. -
Produce well-written system documentation and diagrams at both the high and detailed levels and solution work breakdown.
What You Will Need: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Experience in Enterprise Database development with at least 7 years of database architecture and design experience. -
Possesses a deep understanding of tools used in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). -
Strong background and experience with:

Relational databases, NoSQL and document databases, leading-edge data persistence technology and implementations -
Data modeling and validation -
Enterprise data warehouse implementation and analytical tools -
ETL/ELT development, automation, and maintenance using multiple source systems -
Requirements gathering and documentation -
Hands-on experience with all modes of data persistence and transit including batch/cron jobs, REST APIs, Pub/Sub, and data streaming -
Leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects

Well-versed in designing and implementing Data Marts, Multi Data Models, and Star and Snowflake Schemas. -
Proficient in a programming language such as PL/SQL code, python, or similar. -
Knowledgeable in tools used to identify and manage structured and unstructured data -
Demonstrated ability to work well with others. -
Proven capability to train employees in technically complex areas. -
Proactive, energetic self-starter with good problem-solving skills. -
Prior experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and other Databases -
Knowledge of AGILE development principles is preferred. -
Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
Education & Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent, from an accredited university, in a data processing discipline or equivalent industry experience.
- 10 years of experience in database design and analysis and 6 years of experience in Oracle 11g or above
Reporting Relationships This position reports to a Manager, Director, or Executive level position and may have direct reports. Pay Range: $112,400-$150,000 commensurate with experience. #LIremote, #dice
