As a Senior Regulatory Affairs Analyst, you will be part of a team of regulatory and compliance professionals that support the AARP branded Medicare insurance products. You will be responsible for researching and analyzing regulatory changes impacting the delivery of health insurance, serving as a key resource for business partners and your team.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Analyze and resolve policy and regulatory issues to meet both business and regulatory requirements
  • Review and analyze proposed and enacted laws and regulations to determine applicability and impact to AARP insurance products and services
  • Clearly and concisely summarize the requirements of complex laws and regulations so that the requirements can be easily understood by our business leaders
  • Leverage expertise to: respond to inquiries, requests and actions by regulators, including complaints and requests for assistance
  • Handle regulatory research and report generation
  • Assist with contract and form review, updates, tracking, and research related to AARP Medicare Supplement insurance product contractual forms


It will be your responsibility to interact with and develop solid and productive relationships with insurance regulators and business leaders throughout the enterprise.

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in health care and/or a regulatory environment
  • 2+ years working with Federal or State programs
  • 2+ years of experience in legal research or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience working managed care and/or health insurance
  • Experience building relationships across business groups internally and outside the organization (regulatory agencies)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Lexis
  • Experience with the Medicare program, Medicare Supplement and Hospital Indemnity products, and Fee For Service payment model
  • Experience communicating complex information to non-technical clients, external customers, internal customers and executives
  • Experience interacting and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders (other team members, State regulators, internal customers and executives)
  • Contract or form filing experience
  • Familiarity with and/or ability to quickly become familiar with business processes
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and/or learn to analyze how regulatory changes will impact business processes
  • Ability to review and analyze State and Federal laws and legislation

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
