Job Description:

The Sr. Manager, Program Management is responsible for ensuring that intended outcomes of the Business Risk Office (BRO) and supported business units are achieved, via the successful delivery of risk-related initiatives, varying in complexity and impact. The person in this role will work with business, risk, compliance, & audit leaders to understand program requirements & drive implementation throughout the 1st LOD. This role owns alignment of the book of work, as well as ensuring the BROs & their supported businesses understand the associated prioritization & impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & implement risk program management, including prioritization & capacity methodologies, for the Business Risk Office (BRO) & supported business areas

  • Develop & implement governance & reporting routines, aimed at driving required action

  • Connect across initiatives to identify areas of opportunity & alignment

  • Inform senior risk & business leadership on book of work status & prioritization

  • Assess BRO & business LOE requirements + available capacity on an ongoing basis; develop recommendations to address gaps

  • Engage with key partner teams to ensure full visibility into book of work; communicate upcoming work on an ongoing basis

  • Create & manage integrated initiative & BAU delivery roadmap

  • Integrate/Align across change management & communication plans to drive consistent, comprehensive delivery

  • Track initiatives/projects within the book of work; develop organizational goals, KPIs and OKRs related to success of tracked work

  • Manage or augment support with high visibility projects that span multiple coverage areas

  • Manage team of project managers who support BROs in management of required risk-related work

Requirements:

  • Comfortable challenging the status quo

  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to motivate teams and drive performance

  • High energy and proven track record of accomplishments and results

  • Experience developing presentations and presenting to Senior Leadership or Committees

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large, complex organizations, including effective influencing skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests

  • Strong knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, supervisory guidance, and expectations for large financial institutions (LFIs)

  • Understanding of business strategy, critical success factors, risk profile, and potential exposures

  • Broad experience in understanding how technology risk and automation/digital efforts support enhanced risk management

  • Ability to quickly learn new products, lines of business, processes, software, systems, and client needs

  • Effective risk management skills and ability to predict and mitigate risks and issues, as well as anticipating and proactively preparing for changes and impacts to clients and SVB's business

  • Polished diplomacy, active listening, persuasiveness, and presentation skills to evangelize new products or changes and gain buy-in, consensus, and cooperation in the face of conflicting viewpoints, resistance to change, constraints, etc.

  • Critical-thinking, business analysis, and process engineering skills to manage, contribute to, and foresee pitfalls in process-related deliverables

  • Team Leadership - Experienced in assessing team performance and morale, and driving necessary actions to improve both; Able to develop and foster collaborative teamwork and facilitate team dynamics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience, Master's Degree Preferred

  • Minimum ten (10) years' experience in program/project delivery and/or risk related roles

  • People management experience

  • PMP Certification preferred

  • Risk related certifications preferred

Base Pay:

$136,776.00 - $210,168.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
