Information Assurance Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Design, implement, and manage policies and procedures to ensure database and software security. Apply advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Cybersecurity
  • Experience with performing Information Assurance (IA) controls analysis, testing, and risk assessments
  • Experience with Nessus, Nmap, Burpsuite, Linux security, including RHEL7, or AWS cloud security
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and 800-37, CNSSI 1254, or other VA Risk Management policies
  • Knowledge of defense-in-depth and other information security and assurance principles and associated supporting technologies
  • Ability to identify and evaluate major applications, infrastructure, enclaves, and Enterprise environments based on accreditation boundaries
  • Ability to provide thoughtful feedback to the ISO, ISSO and other VA Cybersecurity leadership to identify risks, communicate recommended courses of action, and recommend process improvements
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the use of vulnerability scanning and assessment tools necessary to identify and document compliance
  • Experience with Prisma Cloud and Twistlock and containerization
  • Ability to work as an independent security practitioner and participate in a small team of security personnel reviewing the same system
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and write technical documents that can be understood by non-technical individuals

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
